OT — I found some old trucks on craigslist.

Thanks for posting- I'm a Diamond T fan, too. The guy is pretty proud of his stuff, though.

I'd also love to find a late 40's/ early 50's truck with a Detroit. I know GM offered Detroits as an option- did any others?

Hired a logger one time with a small, self-loading logging truck (called a "short-logger" in the trade)- about an F-500 or so, probably '58 or '59- it had a 4-71. He said it came that way from the factory.

The Diamond T looks like a 1 ton. I had a 48 1 1/2 Ton DT for about 17 years. 'Restored' it a couple of times. Back in the early/mid 80s I drove it to Alaska and back. Funny i just made a post about i the other day on the n board.
That one looks to be about the same year.
No brakes

I was just wondering if this pickup was made by the same company that made the Diamond T?
Someone from O'neil, NE owns it and cruised it into Kearney a couple years ago on some kind of Tour Nebraska car cruise. I think it had an REO decal on the side.
