My book isn't handy, so going from memory here...
138287 is your serial number, 40303S is the model. I can tell that it's a 'prior' 4000 (4-cylinder), which would make it a '62-'64 model. The 'S' at the end should indicate a Sherman auxiliary transmission, so the main tranny would have to be a 4-speed. I don't know without looking if it's a utility or row crop, though.
