Had a good day today with a couple burps....
Baled the last of hay and straw today for me and two neighbors. Little baler spit out about 150 bales of straw, 200 bales of hay, and about 250 bales of alfalfa without missing a beat. Spit out a 4+ ft bale once and went right back to normal. Fixit kid's dad baled with their 48HP tractor. Could it be me running it with my little tractor that is right at the minimum border as far as power that gives me fits sometimes?
Anyway, one of the unbelievables..... Got 4 mares with babies on a pasture that I rent from 3 different people. It's fruit trees and the property runs the length of the pasture. To keep from tra,pling good grass, I have it seperated in the middle (across the lines). Anyway, to encourage movement and keep one end from being wore out, I put a roundbale/ring on one end and a water tank on the other. Was at the pasture and checked everyone yesterday morning about daylight, and in the evening just drove by on the road and saw everyone was there, same thing this morning. At about 1530 today I was going by the area and saw the horses all grouped in a strange place. Go over and they are all standing with heads hanging and just looking gaunted and used up by a closed gate...... Opened the gate and let them to water after turning the drink valve to allow in just a trickle of water so they didn't gulp and get colicy..... Didn't know which of the three owners to go to so just blamed myself for not checking closer..... 10 minutes later, one of the old ladies came by telling me that the horses were eating apples so she blocked them off from her favorite tree yesterday morning..... People skills went out the window.... It was 95 degrees and she cut them off from the water and most of the shade. Blocked 50k bucks worth of horses from water in this weather over 5 bucks worth of apples..we went round and round. Upshot, I pay her for the apples and she leaves the horses alone.....
Then, an old guy moved my horse trailer from a parking allowed spot back to a no parking area a few feet away and called the cops to give me a ticket cause he didn't like looking out his window and not being able to see in the neighbor lady's (the one that blocked the pasture off) window.
All good now..Should be cooling off in a week or so.......
