Sizing finish mower blades?

I have a Ford 930 72" finish mower that I need new blades for. I downloaded a manual; said manual specifies 24.50" blades. Ok, makes sense to me.

Called local Ford dealer, parts lady says no, that"s wrong, it takes 26.4" blades(at $156 a set)??? Seems like an awful lot of overlap to me, but maybe I"m missing something?

I have looked online and can order 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 24.5" blades for about $30 each from Oregon. Will I be fine getting these blades or is the lady at Ford parts correct?

Thank you,

Anthony

Yer links don't work! I'd post a ford part #, on the ford forum, and someone there might could tell you. good luck

My apologies. I tried to fix it earlier but when I clicked on "return to form" button, the page would close. Attempted several times. Don't know if it's a site problem or if I'm having pc issues. Everything else seems to work fine.

A Google search for "Ford 930 finish mower" brings up a link to N Tractor Page as a top result, with the manual download link.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Anthony

The 24.5 inch does not have enough over lap. You will leave streaks when you turn. I had a buddy measure his Ford 930 grooming mower. His measure 26 3/8 inches long. That is real close to what the Ford dealers says works. What do the old blades measure?????

Also the set from Ford is a Kit. It has three new blades and new cupped washers to hold the blades on.

I would order the correct blades since they are only $40-50 bucks more and they come with new mounting hardware.

It only came with two blades on it, extremely worn and bent. They measure 24 5/8", 24 3/4".

Thank you,

Anthony
