Spark plugs and a GMC S-15

Boy they sure did not make this thing easy to change the plugs in. 1990 GMC S-15 I just traded for. Has the 4.3 V-6. It has 258.XXX mile on it and the plugs look like they are the same ones that where in it when new. Plugs are black and the gap is real wide and so far out of the 4 I have done 2 of them the center part of the electrode is flush with the ceramic so guess it was far past time to change them. Guy I got it from said it did not get good mileage so maybe this will help a lot. Just did the left front plug and took almost 30 minutes to get it out. Oh well should make a far beater for the boy so he will have 4 wheels to get around with instead of the 2 he is doing it with now

Ya that is what I have been doing. I use a wobble type extension so as to make it a tad bit easier and then a 3/8 to 1/2 in adapter and then a long 1/2 extension. So far all the plugs have been very hard to take out so doing them slow so as not to brake one

Been there done that! I've got a 1999 S-10 4 Cyl
that has enough power for me, as my "go to Town"
truck, and gets 25 mpg Summer, 22 winter. That throttle body injected V6, burned more oil than gas..fogged misquetos real good if you tromped
down on it!

Old I usually use an air ratchet under the wheel well. I have had good luck that way. We have three of the S-10 or S-15 with the 4.3 in them. They have been pullet proof for us. The 2.5 4 cylinder is great too. The 2.8 V-6 was a dog.

Two of the 4.3 we have have over 300k on them. They get beat on too as the Grand kids drive them and we use them around the farm. I usually watch out for them to buy.

SO I wish you the best and thank your son for his service. JD Seller

No longer have an air racket the one I had stopped working years ago. Do have an impact but the way these plugs feel I don't think I want to try it.
As for my son and the Navy I do not think he would have joined if it had not been for the fact I was in and Navy also, his real father died when he was 4 years old from Agent orange and cancer. His father was a Marine
