Do you live in snow country?

I had a 10X12 sliding door on my shop. I finally got so tired of pouring hot water along the bottom of it to melt snow and ice so I could get it open, I put up a 10X10 overhead. I even tried putting a long heat tape inside 1" PVC conduit buried just below the edge of the door and that didn't help.

Other than that, looks like a great job.

Looks well constructed but is it for one of the 2 door openings in the pictures? If so, it appears when open that it will either block the other door or block the entrance door to the left or have to move off the building to the right. If that was my place, I'd be putting in roll-up doors instead. Not being critical, just like to understand your plan and its reasoning.

I understand why you asked. I will not be using that door very much thats why I did not buy an overhead door. I did realize it will open and cover the other door. It was just a cheaper way of doing it. Im not cheap just poor. lol

do have underfloor heating so it should help. Usually there is a little heat that escapes to keep the ice at bay :D

Thanks for the pics. I need to do the same thing, I am going to copy some of your construction details.
