It's so hot outside today . . .

By the time I finished hanging my overalls, socks, and drawers on the clothes line, they were dry enough to take down.

Did cut and rake some hay yesterday.

Cut hay with "Vernon" yesterday morning (84o) between 6:30am and 10:30am.

Raked hay with "Sam" yesterday evening (104o) between 6:00pm and 8:30pm.

Community neighbor stopped by while I was raking and said he would buy all of it.

It was so hot yesterday the video camera was too hot to hold!

So far this year, 50 days at 100 or more. 40 consecutive days at 100 or more.

11 days of 105 or more.

Currently 4th in the record books for number of days at 100 or above. 3rd highest year is 52 days, 2nd highest year is 54 days. Highest number of days at 100 or more is 60 (I think).

With the 10 day forecast calling for 100+ every day, will probably break the all time record.

James is right. Its so hot that by time you finish hanging a load of laundry on the clothes line the things you hung up first are nearly dry.

Good deal there James! Looks like a bit of good luck is following you this week (wink) Just save enough for your selves Guess not much down there to be had .

Well, now that you're retired - you might have to break down and buy one of them "newer" green tractors for summers like this. Kinda think 4430 with Soundguard cab would keep the camera cool enough to post pictures!

Oh well, just thinkin

Fellow was glad to get the hay.

He told me last year that he"d take at least 40 bales.

We walked the wind rows so he could see the grass; told me not to worry about picking out a few weeds.

Told him grass was tall and kind of "snakey" for pulling weeds before it was cut.

Never saw a fellow tip-toe through a hay field so cautiously before; said he was afraid of snakes.

I"ll be going back down to "the bottom" this evening after 6:00pm to finish raking.

Start baling early tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

I'd probably have to sell off some of our "fleet" and maybe sweeten the deal with a few of Nancy's horses to trade for a "newer" green tractor.

Suppose if things get worse, I could hitch a couple of her horses to the old No. 3 sickle mower and IH dump rake.

Maybe it will be cool enough this evening for a couple of photos.

You've got that right about high humidity.

I usually come in wringing wet around 11am.

Cool off a bit, eat lunch, take a nap, and change shirt and socks.

I hope you're right about getting a break in 6 weeks or hopefully much sooner.

Our Bermuda hay field is starting to suffer.

I really do feel for you. We've "only" had 13 days over 100 and 2 days that it got to 105. The heat index was at 126 a couple of days. This past week it's been a lot cooler here and we have had some rain the pastures are perking up a little. I hope y'all cool off soon

I think I saw a hay truck under armed guard yesterday. Things are really getting bad. Saw some pastures south of town. Were most of the grass is gone. One of the largest ponds down here dried up Monday.

Looks like your Wife has you trained to do your won Laundry, I'm sure she has you trained for other things just to keep you around, thats funny

Its so hot....

the cactus plants are line up at the back door trying to get in.

Chickens are laying hard boiled eggs.

Automobiles driving down the road are leaving contrials.

No rain in the forecast until next Tuesday and only 20% chance predicted.

Cut hay on Tuesday morning and baled it this morning; doesn't take long to "cure out" in this heat.

Had an old washer with "ringer" as a kid.

Years later we drove in to town to wash clothes, then brought them home and hung them on the clothes line.

My mother taught me how to wash clothes and hang them on the line.

Been washing and drying my clothes for over 40 years.

Clothes really do dry fast in this hot weather.
