My faith in man has been restored

Ever have a day when it would have been better just to stay at home. Sunday was like that for me. I went to the Almelund MN Threshing Show where I had my 1949 MH Pony displayed. I had left the trailer there the day before. I hooked up, but found one of the tires on the trailer was flat, but since I had battery operated compressor, I decided I would just pump it up before I left. I then went to the Pony and someone must have tried to steal the headlights, because the bolts were loosened and the lights were turned backwards, scratching the paint and breaking the electric wires. All well, I tightened them up and set up for the day. I left for a bit to see a few friends and when I came back, my straw hat was missing. Then sometime during the day, I lost my camera, and no one had turned it in by the time I was ready to leave. Icing on the cake, I stupidly forgot to clamp down the trailer to the ball, so when I loaded up, the tongue of the trailer went up in the air. Luckily, I had the chains on and it only went up about a foot, but it still scared me to death and of course everyone else loading came over to give me a hard time. Once home I had to tell the wife about the camera, case and sd card I had lost. Nice ending of the day was getting the wheel off the trailer (rusted tight).

Now for the good part (I mean it). Monday I went to the Alemelund website and sent an email to the first contact on the list tell him about the camera. Two minutes later I got an email, “I got it, how do you want to get it.” My faith in man has been restored. I don’t know who turned it in, but thank you.
Also, the Almelund MN Threshing Show is a great show, put on by good people. I am impressed every year by the amount of work they do to improve it. Thanks for the hard work you guys do.

Great looking little pony you have there. I'd like to have a set of headlights for mine, but certainly wouldn't even consider stealing them off someone's tractor! That's terrible. I've never been to that show, but would like to go there sometime. Thinking of going to the White Pine Logging and Threshing show in McGrath, Mn over Labor Day weekend. Glad you got your camera back.

There's a lot of good people in this world. Unfortunately, the few bad ones are usually more noticable. Glad you got your camera back. Nice looking Pony! By the way - shouldn't that step be green?

Just kidding. . .

Yes, but I'm too old to crawl over the back of it. Makes it very easy to get on and off. JD had a great idea.

I've been eye-balling those steps as something that could be modified and used on the Farmalls, but I need only the step part, not the whole she-bang, and just the step is a bit pricey for what it is.

Steal your headlights, on a tractor, at a show, who does things like that ? Someone took the valve stem caps off my mustang, a cobra convertible model, people are unbelievable when it comes to stealing things !

Years ago, I sold a Case Backhoe to a young man. He was not willing to give my asking price so I told him to make an offer. He made a really low offer, which I refused and he left.
Next day he called and wanted a second look, he came and made me a reasonable offer with the agreement that if he didn't have to spend a lot of time and money, on the things that the machine needed, he would give me $900.00 within a few months.
Three months later he returned with $900.00 cash. Honestly--I never expected to see him again.
NOW that made my day!!!
I will never forget that young man!!

Some people have all the luck!!!!! your tire went flat before you got on the highway, You nearly lost your lights but didn't, you had no damage when to the car when the hitch came off, and someone looked out for you when you were careless with your camera. You had a very lucky or blessed day!!!
