August 16- Elvis is STILL dead....

Not so, I think I saw him at Marsh Supermarket only yesterday. If anyone is old enough to remember the actor Bela Lugosi who played Dracula in the thirties movies, he requested to be buried in his Dracula costume. People at his funeral responded "Dracula dead" ??? NEVER

A quote from what other classic horror movie.... "Its alive its alive" ???? Its an easy one for anyone my age and older, does Boris Karloff ring a bell lol

Yeppers, If I recall I think Colin Clive played the original Dr. Frankenstein ("Its alive its alive") and as you correctly noted, Karloff was the Frankenstein Monster. Then there was Lon Chaney Jr. who played the Wolfman (A lycanthrope), remember Maria Ospynskya (Spelling??) as his dear old mother. Karloff also played a pretty good Mummy as I recall. Horror movie Johnny come latelys were Peter Cushing and Basil Rathbone, Vincent Price and Peter Lorre. I still think Bela Lugosi (Count Dracula) was the greatest.

And I am 63 today. Jose, we share our birthday with Madonna. Swell.

Babe Ruth died on the day I was born- August 16, 1948.

Two weeks ago "THIS" tv station was running the "MUMMY Marathon". Several old mummy movies, including the one Boris made. Good entertainment.

(quoted from post at 04:33:34 08/16/11) ...and I am 53

Happy Birthday! No Elvis story but took my wife to the States for her first visit. All went well, took her home to Ohio and went across the river to West Virginia and the Walmart. First thing in the door was a photo setup taking portraits. Man and woman were trying to convince the kid taking pics that they were Hank Williams and Patsy Kline.... First thing the wife says is "is all the people like that here???" Told her that it was only the ones from WV and we'd get back to OH ASAP where the smart folks were.....

LOL you must have told her it gets worse the further East ya go I'm about 2 hours from Wheeling.

That"s what happens when one not only trusts but pays someone else to handle their bussiness and life. Kind-a-like we all do with our government! doesn"t look good for us does it???

Sure, why not? After all, Elvis is Michael's paw-in-law. Lisa Marie stops by every day to bring them something to help them sleep.
