Adding coulters to Dearborn 10-156

Hello!

I have a Dearborn 10-156 plow that I bought without coulters (see pic). I"d like to add some. I"m not doing a restoration, so any coulter setup will do. But someone told me that adding coulters to this plow will be difficult since the coulter stem is 1 1/8 which is difficult to find, rather than the more common 1 3/8 or 1 1/2".

Is the problem that the two holes where you"d mount the stem with some kind of U-bolt (?) are too close together to take the more common 1 1/2 or 1 3/8 stems from other companies or models?

"Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

The easiest solution is to find a parts plow. Note: Good discs and bearings are difficult to find.

Post your inquiry on the Ford and 8N, 2N,8N forums above for best response.

That sounds all well and good, BUT, what if you get into a patch with grape vines and Poison Ivy that has had a couple years to vine-in..??
Believe me, that is Bad enough With Coulters..!!

I would find a way to attach any set I can find, AND put Cover-Boards on it too..

the original coulters were held by a u bolt and a saddle...if you dont want to drill new holes in your plow, why not make a bracket out of a double piece of 1/2" or single piece of 1" flat bar that will bolt to plow and larger coulter clamps...my coulters grew legs years ago and every set i've found since are junk...i've got the twin to that plow sitting in the barnyard.
