Wipers on my HOUGH H60 D

The windshield wiper, air operated, doesn't work on my Hough 4x4 loader.
I bought the loader to plow my own personal drive. Thinking I will need the wiper.
Would really like to have an electric wiper--any ideas.
Also the small cab has a working heater with fan--not sure it will be enough heat.
Are there any small----VENTED---heaters that I could install in the cab???????????
Hoping you folks can be of help.

The air operated wipers did not work very well when new. I have changed several over to electric. If there are any tractor/combine salvage yards around you then go get one off of a scrap tractor combine complete. I used one off of a JD 6600 combine in an old Gallion road grader. I only used the JD one because I was filmier with the wiring needed. I think I gave $25 dollars for the motor, arm and mount. I had to drill two hole for the motor arm and pivot to go out through the side wall. It has been working now for ten years or more.

For heater is your loader gas or diesel??? If it is diesel then go to a Heavy truck scrap yard. Many semis have a small bunk heater that is diesel fuel fired and blows hot air. The unit is about the size of a bread box. It has a external exhaust. Then a fan to blow the hot air into the cab. for you operation you could just mount it under the seat and not need the vent tube. It just needs 12volt electric and diesel fuel supply. If your loader is gas then you could mount a small tank just for the heater. I have attached a link.
Diesel fuel heater

Thanks JDseller--great ideas. The motor is the straight 6 Cummins diesel.
It has two big 12 volt batteries.

The air operated sound like the old vacuum operated wipers they had years ago. If you were going up a steep hill the wipers slowed down
when the vacuum dropped. They put double action fuel pumps on cars and trucks so the bottom half would furnish enough vacuum for the wipers. These pumps created another problem when they aged they would sometimes leak gas into the engine. Our first car with electric wipers was on a 1949 Dodge my brother and I bought new. It always used oil until we put new rings in it. I drove it to Florida in 1955
about a month before I was discharged from the Army. My wife and daughter went with me and my sister.
It didn't use any oil and I pulled our mobile home with it from Ft Bragg NC. Hal

I think alittle heat goes along way in the winter- Just look at the old heater houser cabs. However you could just get a 12v heater to stick down by your feet, I used one in my truck this winter not alot of heat but its alright. You wont sweat. But that plus the cab heater might work fine for winter purposes. The link is the one that I used, Try it out and return it if it isn't enough- or use it to defrost the windows.

Railroad Locomotives use Air operated window
wipers. There must be a million of them on todays
railroads. They look like the same ones that i've seen on old trucks...there must be a source!

Thanks Pat for that idea--that might be just what I will try for a little extra heat--the area is very small.
