Had dave2 people skills today

Had small fresh produce stand at my place. If we don't grow it, we don't sell it. Blackberries are coming to the end of the season. 2 old ladies stopped by today wanting blackberries. We have a sample bowl for people. Well they not only sampled out of the bowl but also from all the other containers. They probably ate a quart apiece. Prices are quarts picked and for pick your own, Same with gallons. Cheaper price for pick your own and by the gallon. They wanted picked for pick your own prices. Told them no. So they bought a gallon. Didn't want 4 quarts, it had to be in a gallon container. I don't usualy do this as fruit gete smashed. Put it in a gallon container and then they told me that they needed it divided into 2 containers as they would be each taking half. Had buried one of my older brothers yesterday, so I wasn't in a very good mood. Told them where they could put there blackberries

Makes ya wanna just plow up everything and go on welfare............ People are nothing short of unbelievable.....My biggest problem is the two big ance's (Arrogance and Ignorance).... I hold my own with one at a time but when someone throws both at me at once, I ain't fun to be around. Looked forward to a peaceful weekend with the wife, me, and the animals and some couch time....
Was working some on my barn siding procrastination project while the wife updated the website and a few ads when someone shows up at the gate to look at horses. They talked a little and were real nice so I told them they'd have to make an appointment to do business but I would take them quick to the pasture so they could see the character difference in the old lines and a lot of the stuff the "experts" have here.. Seems to have been 30 minutes well invested.
Then today, we took a 250 nile RT to pick up my new poopoo wagon. Got there and had to back into a place with a couple inches on each side and noone offered to move a vehicle. Got in place and was getting ready to winch it on the trailer when this idiot came and said I'd have to move so he could get by with his car (main one that was in the way to begin with and he watched me back in).... Told him in what I thought was a nice tone that he'd have to wait. He started huffing around and smarted off something to the wife and then F$%& Americans.... Prolly a good thing I was extra mad cause the winch crank missed him and put a big mark on the building next to him instead of his head..... Things got real quiet real fast. He seemed happy to wait the few minutes I needed to get out of the way...

FF a few hours, home, wagon unloaded, rental trailer returned, bellies full from dinner, and I went to check horses before chilling out..... Got to the pasture with mares and babies to find 4 folks and a couple dogs screwing around on the pasture. Asked them what they were doing and said they were interested in buying a horse. Asked if they had called for an appointment and they said there was no answer so they just drove up (100 miles). Said they went to the house but the wife told them they'd have to make an appointment but they didn't want the trip to be wasted. And someone in town told them where they could find the horses. About that time, a dog got close to a baby and all he!! broke loose. They left pretty quick too......... and'll prolly think twice before doing something like that again....

Guess I gotta see someone about anger management.........

You boys keep up the good work tho. You's making me real proud......

Sounds like you handled it very well to me.

One thing that always made me wanna go off on somebody. Customer calls at two in the morning. Generator is busted need you out here NOW. So jump up drive like He## to get to the site. First words out of his mouth. How much is this going to cost. Just makes me smile and fight back the urge to slap them up side the head.

Dave 2. It kinda appears to me that it's not your attitude, but the area where we're from. Most of us from around here are either brutally honest if asked what we think about something. Guess some people just can't stand the truth & you have to get their attention. Keep up the honesty LOL Keith

LOL I have a bit of a problem with that! When I first retired from the Army my mom had had a lot of problems with people poaching and tresspassing. I started walking the farm boundry with the highway every day, rain or shine with a rifle. Stayed on our property but people driving by could see. Ain't had many problems sense then.....and that was in 96.

Condolences for your Brother and the rest of the family.

But My of people skills would have surpassed Daves even at his worst, time when the sampling went to the already packaged berries. That's not any more considered samples, I would call it shoplifting . or thievery.

Many years ago my son and daughter sold corn and cukes when they were pre teens.Their prices were very low.Corn for a buck a dozen, cukes for 25 cents each.People were alway trying to chisel.A korean worman took out a paring knife and cut a cuke in half.Set it down and didnt buy any thing.Friend has an orchard ,says Asians expect to pick apples free.They say wanna try.They took his new bags and headed for the orchard.An asian woman called me about the price of picnic tables.She said I need 2 tables and wanna deal.I told her 115.00 plus tax each.She insisted on a lower price.I told her I was done building for the year.It doesnt pay to make a 60 mile trip for 2 tables,I buy enough lumber for 5 tables.I told her to see a fellow about 20 miles away.His tables are 140.00 plus tax now.
