hey guys a d gals i know noone has much time to gab this time of year but i hav a prob with our homelite chain saws the super 2's the recoil sprocket or what ever you call it keeps wearing the teeth out on the outside and makes it slip-- we have 5 saws and they all do the same thing. do you know where we can but new sprockets or gears what ever they are called and what is the prob. they seem to not be out far enough to catch the fingers of the recoil any ideas appreciated blw also need 2 480 X 12 boat trailer tires, new or in good cond. if anyone has any they are not going to use thanks

I Googled last year and found Homelite parts from some outfit on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. Also had to buy a chain drive gear. It was over 15 years old and still worked but badly worn, so can't complain. Bought the saw for $89 when new and have run the heck out of it. Runs fine but the automatic chain oiler is getting weak.

we always called the spring-loaded "fingers" that engage the starter cup, dogs.

answer to both its not the dogs that are the prob is the gear they catch not a cup on the super 2's and the oiler prob is because in the oil tank there is a little rubber clapper valve on the end of the tube that falls off they can still be bought a real prob to get them in small working space but that is the only thing i have found wrong with the oilet hope this helps I can't figure out why the dogs only contact the outer part of the gear and that wears it right out and it slips
