bats in my bellfree.

hi--i just started coming to this board. LOTS
of good stuff! well, my gf has a major bat infestation between her siding and chimney. at dusk i saw 100plus bats fly out for feeding or
whatever they do. any ideas on tackling this problem? what attracts them to this magnitude?

Bet she don't have any mosquitos....................
Not to worry.....Someone will chime in with a nice poison recipe to fix you right up...... You may do a little surfing the web. You may find a group that'll set up a better house that'll draw them from her chimney.....

sulfur candles; wait till they leave at nite, then burn the candles. When they've left for good seal the cracks. they only need a quarter inch crack to get in. Then take all the bat guano & put it on the garden. If they've been there long, they'll be a bushel of it.

Dave, that's really uncalled for. Killin coons with poison is not a problem to me, or others, but none but you mentioned killin bats. I like bats, because they kill mosquitoes, and other harmful insects, would never try to kill them in any way. Now, a stinkin, thievin coon or 'possum, is another story!

I had a bat problem put up one of those electronic pestrepeller. If I don"t keep it there the bats come back. I tried to make a bat house in a dfferent location but they won"t go.

Apparently you didn't read what was originally in his post. It has since been edited, to be nicer than the original vitriol, which was there, last night.

since the bats are in the house--a little gentle persuasion to relocate them would be choice number one--they do eat a large number of insects, but will ultimately damage the house.

I've had good luck removing bats from buildings by making little one way screens, lets them out but not back in. Bernsy

Dave 2 is far from being a jerk. Why start calling names when he forms his opinion on here? I rather enjoy his posts and look for then all the time. He does have (what he calls People Skills) the right to verse his opinion and he does so with a lot of self discipline.I will give you a little advice, and that is live and let live,so if you get your dander up, it's no ones fault but yours.

I was hired to rid a house of bats several years ago. Some things the humane society told me then. They usually live in colonies of 16. They can get in a hole the size of a dime!
I gutted the ENTIRE 3rd floor-the stench by the chimney was enough to knock you over! On this house, their was a small crack between the brick chimney, and the wood siding. Stuffed that crack full of steel wool. No more bats!

Might be a glitch from classic view, to modern view, might be some editorial tinkering going on, all I know for sure is that your original post, in classic view had a different second sentence than it does now. I think that is why some people were calling you names. I thought I took the high road, and didn't call names. Oh well it's over and done with, as far as I am concerned.

Still a disconnect between the two on this thread. You don't see all the replies in classic. Just remember that I's gots people skills and it'll all be cool......
