My wife's Grandad bought it new in 1961, one of the first delivered to Hugoton KS. Farmed alot of wheat and milo, then later irrigated corn. Pretty good shape, original paint. Batteries in wrong spot and I don't really like the hose between the air cleaner and muffler. Looking forward to seeing my boy run his great grandad's tractor. Will be a little bigger than our current tractor an 8n.

That hose between the air cleaner and muffler looks like part of an R-W precleaner. I had those on a couple of my tractors, and they sure saved on air filters. The precleaner would "siphon" the dust out of the air cleaner before it got a chance to cake to the filter, and blow it out the muffler with the exhaust.

IMHO that is the correct place for the batteries. Makes the cables shorter and much better access. Of course it isn't original.
