Wouldn't tie.... Had a post the other day about the neighbor and his dad fixing it. Went to bale yesterday and it wouldn't tie a good not when there was pressure on. Kid took it home and said he'd try to fix it but the knotters wern't holding the twine right. I had no faith and went home/ate dinner. Went to his house afterwards and he was gone. went to the field and he was going like a champ. I was gone about 40 minutes and he had completely disassembled the knotters, scraped/cleaned the stuck on twine residie from 30 years, and put everything back together. baled about 700 bales of straw last night and I did another hundred and about that much hay today without missing a knot......
 

Keep calling him a kid but he's 31 years old....... If there is anything he CAN'T do, I don't know what it is..... He buys junk off ebay and redoes it to pretty much perfect condition.....

Priceless............... I turned him on to harbor freight and norther tool and he's like a kid in a candy store....
 
Gift Certificate to one of those outfits would be a nice token of appreciation. Sounds like a great guy to have on your side.
 
Can you send him over here? I've been fighting with my baler longer than I want to relate. (Don't think a basic cleaning would make it work, however.)
 
so it will not knot, or the knotter will not knot, or does it not knot, to knot not or to knot a knot, that is the question

just make shure your neighbor's son doesn't find a girlfriend, he won't be worth a darn afterwords
 
I think it is about 25 years ago since I got rid of my residue ,certainly things run smoother,had to get a bigger drawer to store the wallet .
 
That young man sound like a real good friend. I would reward him well. Got a young fellow around here that is kind of like your friend. HE can alway be counted on to help out. I try to help him any way I can.

It is amazing how a good tuned knotter can work so well. When they are working it is kind of a joy to run them.
