OT: Someone doesn't mind the heat!

Missy loves to soak up the sum, whether cold or hot. She;s a Siberian Husky and is the most spoiled dog on the planet, though her feelings would be hurt if we called her a dog; she thinks she's people.

You might want to poke her with a stick just to make sure!

Our german shepherd has been laying in her pool when she's outside but we've been keeping her inside these last few days.

my mastiff won't do anything outside until the sun goes down, he's part of the family and sleeps with the kids. put him outside in the heat and he knocks on the door until you let him back in--he can't stand the heat, and it makes his slobber double.

This is the third picture. I stepped outside to take the picture of the thermometer, and she popped up. She doesn't stay too long during the summer though.

Obviously she's one of those solar powered dogs. You can get an energy tax credit if shes less than 4 years old and replaced a conventional pet (dog or cat).

Clea [Chihoohoo and Pug] and her desert Tortoise buddys enjoying the pool. Clea keeps a very close watch on the Torts when ever they are out of their burrow. Alfie,Beta and Charlie don"t mind Cleas smelling and poking around them at all.I think the Torts enjoy the pool, but how can I tell ?

I had never thought about it until this summer, but if a pet is used to being inside a lot, he gets used to the air conditioning just like humans, so when he goes out the heat gets to him just like us.
I went out about 11:00 AM to use the solar powered clothes dryer and Bubba, our 60lb Doberman/Pit Bull mix went with me. Before I was through hanging towels on the line he was standing on the porch waiting to get back in the house.

We had a cat that would sleep under our wood stove. When it finally come out it was too hot to even pet but the cat seemed to be perfectly fine with the heat.

I have a small dog I call rat. Opened the door to let her out. The heat hit her and she looked at me like you have got to be kidding me. So she went to the cat box. Cat got upset but he will get over it.

Wife's chihuahua loves the heat too. He'll find a comfy spot in the yard and lay in the full sun till we go get him.

Our little pup (14lbs), has US trained!!
When we go somewhere, if he wants the window rolled down, he stares at window switch!
When he wants a drink ("his" cup is kept filled w/fresh water), all he has to do is stare at
"his" water cup! BUT when I set parked too long, with the engine shut off and no A/C, he waits about 10-15 mins, then he will gently scratch my arm (2 times), waits about 5 mins then gently scratches my arm 2-4 times, if I still won"t start the engine (A/C), he then will scratch my arm furiously!! Then when I start the car, he will stand there on his hind legs, soaking up the A/C
I guess you might say he"s spoiled, BUT we love him just the same.

My "classic" black and white Siberian Husky handles the heat better than our much shorter haired brindle boxer.

But the boxer is spoiled, she gets to spend the nights in the house.

The Husky never gets to come in, but knows where good shade and the pond is. DOUG
