2600 diesel problems

I have a Ford 2600 diesel that lost power and stoped running (seemed to run out of fuel). I changed the fuel filter with a NAPA filter. I have fuel going in to the filter but none coming out. Is there a transfer pump and where is it located? I am having trouble finding someone that knows this system.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think those tractors have a separate supply pump. You do need to bleed the air out of the new filter before you try to start the tractor. There is a bleeder screw on the top of the filter, i think it takes a 12mm or maybe a 1/2" wrench. Open about 1/2 to 1 turn until pure fuel (no bubbles) runs out, then close it.

Also be sure you have a good supply going into the filter. Sometimes over the years of being fueled out of cans, in the field etc. the strainer(if there is one) in the tank will get clogged and need cleaning. Have seen it happen more than once.

You need a fairly full fuel tank to get much fuel through the filter when bleeding. You might also want to clean the tank strainer if the tank is low at this point. Just remove the drain valve from the tank and clean it and the screen if it still has one. I usually stick a shop vac in the tank nexk to hold the fuel in while I remove the valve. Just don't stick it in tight or it'll collapse the tank... Just throw it in a ways so it takes a slight vacuum on the tank.
Once you've got that done, reinstall the valve and fill the tank. Should bleed easily then. Bleed the filter, then the pump. Crank the engine with the SHUTOFF PULLED OUT until it squirts fuel out near the wheel. CLose the bleeder and try... should start unless you ran it bone dry.
