Appears to be new not much came up on it.
Thing reads exactly like all the scam emails with an official looking check.
Haven't figured out their hook, because they send you a check for more than what you have to pay, so I thought it was a pay phone number but the guy from the link says he called it.
So all I can figure is is they wanted somebody to deposit it and send a check in less than 60 days before the check is found bad.
But none of the people below the original poster had any money so it would be a scam on the bank.

Its exactly the same as the deal where they send a check for your tractor that is for more than the price, and they ask you to send the surplus to their shipper.

Sure, if you cashed the check and waited 60 days to make sure it was good, you'd come out with only a minor check bounce fee- but most who fall for it would cash the check, immediately send the $2,900 to who knows where, and then get nicked for the original check amount when the bank finally gets around to bouncing it 2 weeks later.

In the comments on the website you linked, the company who drew the check was in "Chagrin Falls"- thats just too delicious- "Chagrin" is what you'll have if you fall for this deal!
 
ya had a guy call on a truck once and wanted to send 2000.00 more tha the askig price. i was suppose to cash the check and give the guy picking the truck up the 2000.00 for travel expences. i told him to sent the check to his guy and he could pay me in cash when he picked the truck up. never heard from him again. if done as asked i would have been out 2000.00 and my truck. i hate greedy crooks
 
Are you sure they didn't ask you to SEND the trucker the 2 grand? Usually the scam is for the money only- there is no shipper, and they would not have come for your truck.
 
no they wanted the truck and the money under the pretence that he needed it right away for his wifes birthday, which would give me no time for the check to clear. it was a classic truck and i have heard of this scam before, they ship them out of the country asap. when i would not take a check i never heard from him again. there was no shipper involved somebody was going to come get the money and drive the truck to Canada
