Baled 10's of thousands of bales in the past 25 or so years with a 4230, presently on a JD 568.

takes about 65 to 70 hp give or take,, so yes, it should do fine.

JD 4240 Tractor Data:
PTO (claimed): 110 hp

yep with 35 hp to spare.............These numbers are for new equipment.
