I"m in the market for a 40x60 and have been looking at Top Line steel buildings that I think is the same as Olympia and Rhino steel building out of Denton Tx. Would like to hear for any of you that have one. Or if you have a steel building that you are happy with I"d like to know about it.

I did a Rihno steel building back in 2006, erected it for my employer, the erectors were me, my brother and brother in law.. it was 30' X 100'

it was my first, we got it done took us a whole month, there were hardly any directions but we got it done, and it didn't leak when it rained..

and just this past May, down the road another contractor errected two simular buildings and bigger, I told him what I did and how long it took me ( a whole month) and he said Rihno is the worst, so I reckon I did well considering.....

this was in Texas, and in August (hottest month) so perhaps this gives you a little to go by.

suggest you rent or borrow an all terrain forklift, put a work platform on it. My son and I sided & roofed our pole barn using a loader tractor w/forks and scaffold planks. Saves alot of time.

Probably too far away, but I bought a MBS, Metal Building System, bulding, out of South Carolina, went up good, has held up VERY good.
Main reason I dealt with them is they were straight forward, not all the B.S. most sellers gave me.also were on time to the hour in getting it ready to piskup.
One Co gave me a price, that "can't be beat"I was in the new bldg, from MBS when
the "can't be beat" salesman called back "ready to buy?" me: bought already. Him "why didn't you give me a chance to beat their price? Me: you had your chance, BUCKWHEAT,.........by the way he WAS a White guy.

kswillie, I suppose these are the two you've whittled down to? If not, I was wondering if you've checked into the Mueller steel buildings?

Also, you might want to pose this questions on the garage journal website. There are a few folks that have built pole barns and stuff in this area.

I'm about a year away from doing this myself and just starting to research a few things like this myself.

Where are you located? I had one built a couple years ago, weld up by a local guy, did a real good job. It was cheaper and has a few more custom things than the bolt-togethers we priced from Athens Steel Buildings and Red Dot, both of which are around 30 miles from me.

641, No I'm still whittling. I've been at this project for 5 years now. Seems that the money saved for it gets used for other things. I live in ks so wind and snow are important things. I have learned that you have to look real hard at what looks like a good deal maybe not so good, light ga. steel, ect. Kind of like shopping for a used tractor. Buyer beware! That Mueller building looks nice and is all 26ga. Thanks for the info.

Have you looked at Premier Building Systems out of Lawrenceville, Georgia? Several of them have been built around here in the past few years and my boss is in the process of building one now. He showed me the quotes a few days ago. they were several thousand cheaper than some other top name building companies. I'd recommend looking at them if you haven't already made up your mind.
