Stolen field chopper

I had a 611 New Holland field chopper, single row, stolen over the forth of July week end. It was located in Hannibal, New York 13074 in Oswego county. If anybody has any information or may have seen it on the road they can call the Oswego county sheriffs or the New York State police with the information. I'm sure that they will keep the source confidential. Along with that they also took several sheets of pole barn steel and other items. The field chopper had the corn head off and it was also taken.
I believe that it was taken yesterday 7/6/2011 Thanks for any help to get it back with the other items.

Check the scrap yards within a several-mile radius. Steel is $240 - $260 a ton right now in my area.

Yup - hearing a lot of that.

Fella on the other forum had a good working grain cart stolen & was found at the junk yard, ready to be cut up....

Yep, no farmer would steal that stuff, that's a lowlife metalurgical conisuer. You should convince him to collect gold insted of farm equipment. When you find him, break every tooth in his @#$%^&* mouth, and he can get them capped with even more precious metal. And I'm sure the NYSP do, but when you talk to the scrap yards, remind them of their responsibilities- if they want to keep their license.

I'm guessing more than one person was involved since the corn head probably weighed 5 to 8 hundred pounds not attached.

Your right Trooper. If anybody can help to give the boys in blue and gray some help I would be grateful. They are pretty good around here.
You don't just pick up the tongue or head without a lift of some kind. We now know that it was taken at about 1:30 in the afternoon yesterday during the day. Lots of neighbors close by but they all work during the day.

any scrapyard thats paying attention at all, ought to notice a 611 coming in- theres not that many around compared to say a 717. thats assuming it comes in in one piece.

I would be driving to all the scrap yards that are close by. Many of them don"t care where it came from as long as it is steel. My father just had a stainless steel freezer taken off of his pickup truck. He saw them do it and chased them to the scrap yard. The yard owner got all over him for making the guys put it back into his truck. He told the scrap yard guy that maybe he had better call the county sheriff. The yard guy got all cooperative then.

Many of the smaller yards are crooked as "H". They are taking anything they can load around here. Stole the heat exchanger off of the church AC unit. Too many low life people around.

Well, I put the word out to a lot of my friends that are farmers and contractors with equipment all over the county and hate thieves more than I do. I might suggest that they return the chopper and other things, in the same condition that they got them in, as I don't have much control over what they might do in dishing out intense justis. They might not be as understanding as I am.
