hydraulic problem

I have a Daewoo (don"t think brand will mater in this case) 601 skid loader. All of a sudden it started pumping hydraulic oil out of the breather. Someone said it sounded like air was getting into the system, but I can"t find any leaks. The oil looks milkey (no warer in oil). I thought a relief valve may be stuck. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas

I'm going to assume the oil is coming out of the flywheel housing/gearcase between the engine and the pumps as that's typically where you'd find a breather 'blowing out' hydraulic oil on most brands of skid steers I've encountered. I just repaired a JD a few months back that was doing the same thing I assume your describing. That said, the problem is usually the shaft seal on the pump leaking. The oil looks milky because it's being forced past the seal under pressure and is being aeriated while doing so. If this is what's happening you might get lucky and just replace the shaft seal/seals like I did on the JD. Problem is there is also the chance that the pump shaft has become grooved and if that's the case just putting a seal in won't solve the problem and your looking at some level of a pump rebuild, depending on the actual design of the pump. Good luck.

Make sure you have not accidentally activated the auxiliary valve. I don"t use my auxiliary circuit very much and the pedal gets sticky. So if you stepped on it getting in and out it can over heat the oil and make it blow out the breather.
