starter for a hien-werner excavator

my starter stoped working! when i try to start engine all i get is a click sound from siloniod,any body know were i can find a starter for a c14 ???????thanks for any help any one can give.

Did you try to jump it? The clicking can also be the battery

Try DB Electrical, If they don't have one they should be able to rebuild yours.

Starter mite be stuck from bad connection,weak battery and so forth. I would remove the starter and hook to a good battery first before thinking i need a new starter.

what is the make of the motor?
I don't think hien-werner made the motor, I belive its a detroit deisel. Should be no problem buying a new or rebuilt starter.

That's usually not a starter problem,could be a low battery,bad cable or solenoid.

Thoms,

If memory is correct that has a 6 v 53
detroit and has delco 40mt starter. Good
chance the contacts in the solenoid are burnt.
Either disassemble sol in place or remove sol,
remove 4 nuts holding end cover. See if disc
is burnt or contacts are burnt ,disc is
reversible and replacable and the contacts
are replacable . also can turn the contact
blots around in an emergency.
