What do you have for breakfast?

I've seen this posted before, but wanted an update so I could show my 88 year old Dad.
A few days ago he had an appointment to go in for a PT scan in the afternoon. They told him don't eat anything after 7 AM. When I picked him up about 11 I asked him if he had a big breakfast knowing it would be well after lunch time before he would get to eat again. He said "I had a bowl of cereal". I griped at him about that (since he's diabetic) but then realized I should have gone over there and made him a good breakfast. Sure enough I didn't get him back home until 2 PM and he was not feeling well due to the lack of food. Live and learn I guess.
Since I get up early and normally eat a big breakfast, many times I eat little or no lunch. So I'm curious what ya'll do for breakfast and how long does it last you?

Today I had basically the same thing I have everyday except Sunday. I have eggs everyday since we raise chickens. Today was a 4 egg omlet with diced onions, grated sharp cheese and some diced fresh tomato out of the garden all mixed in and then I add more tomato on top once it's on the plate. Also hash browns with American cheese on top, 2 sausage patties, a biscuit covered in honey and a glass of cranberry juice.

1 egg over easy on whole wheat toast, and 1/2 grapefruit. Every morning.

But occasionally I mix it up a little, and have grapefruit juice instead of the half grapefruit.

I'm just a wild and crazy guy.
 
Must be from the south to have garden ripe tomatoes already.
Biscuits,gravy and biscuits with gravey poured on top seems to be a common south staple too?
 
Was digging in the freezer and found a june berry pie the other day,,,soooo i had a piece a pie and now im sippen on my mooka,,lol......and enjoying the good life.....
 
A toasted bagel with cream cheese and several cups of coffee.

If I have more than that for breakfast I feel sluggish and yucky all day.
 
I'm guessing you do real work and don't have a desk job? I'd be 400lbs in a few months if I had that everyday.

As for me, I don't eat breakfast.
 
Typically large cup coffee and cigarettes. Going on 29 days w/o the cigarettes but I still have the coffee. Typically only eat one meal a day and that is in the evening.
 
At work, bowl of raisen bran, 2 fried eggs, onions, tomatoes and jalapenos, biscuit sandwich with onions and beef bacon.

At home, anything my wife cooks me cause its all good.

It varies from day to day. Usually, whole grain English muffin or 12 grain bread. Once a week a couple of eggs; in winter oatmeal with raisens and brown sugar. When I get to a certain store and get x-tra sharp cheddar, I have grilled cheese. Also have a glass or two of V-8 a coupe of days a week. On the weekends, I sometimes make eggs with a bit of milk in a cast iron skillet, add ham, diced potatoes, and cheese and finish in the oven. Good stuff!

I've heard it said that you should eat breakfast like a King, dinner like a Queen and supper like a pauper.
 
Some days just a pot of coffee and maybe a englich muffin with butter and honey. extra time days it's bacon, 2-3 eggs over easy with toast, hashbrowns if I have alot of times. When I am starving, dont have time to cook or stop at a dinner, and am headed to town, it's a mcskillet burrito, needless to say I will have to crap that out within an hour.
 
When I get up and about [4:30 am],2 slices of Raisin Bread untoasted and a Diet coke or some times I make a decaf coffee,when she gets up and about maybe 2 hours later she will make me 2 Schwanns Sausage Patties and 1 whole wheat toast with jelly.
 

Usually nothing during the week because I'm either just getting off shift or wife is not there. She gets something at work and I usually slide thru til lunch or grab something from the bakery. Weekends, we have a decent egg, bisquit, bacon or sausage, with maybe gravy. Or go out somewhere for brunch. I've started drinking a glass of milk first thing in the morning because I take a couple pills.
 
I have breakfast every morning always eggs ,bacon or sausage or ham hashbrowns or fried potatoes sometime pancakes or french toast I don't much like oatmeal don't like cold cereal.Mom always said you can"t run your car on an empty tank why would you try to run your body on empty.

Same for me, my own eggs from my hens, and I have to have , sausage, bacon or ham. On the side or in a breakfast sandwich, I'm addicted to breakfast sandwhichs . I eat around 6.30 and am ready for lunch by 11 or 12!
 
People who don't eat breakfast either can't get up in time or can't sit still long enough. There are no other ligitimate reasons for depriving ones body of nutrients required to get jump started in the morning. The stomach is there for a reason!
 
Nope, neither of those reasons. I sit at a desk all morning with a cafeteria 100' away. Plenty of time and food available. If I eat in the morning, I just get sick. I've tried every kind of food with the exception of OJ and things with high acid. Finally I decided to just skip breakfast and it made a big difference in how I felt all day. So, I just eat two meals a day and honestly, I don't get hungry until about 11. My body adapted and I feel much better. As I get older, I just don't need so much food as when I was young. So HA!
