We have purchased an old international tractor we don't know how to find out how old it is. where would I search to get this information we have alot of numbers but don't know which one tells the age.

Post the numbers up here. You would look for a silver looking tag, that would have the serial number. A picture would help what model it is. The other numbers you have are casting codes, and that could also help give us a roundabout date it was made.

numbers on right hand side of engine is 251069-R1 and under that is 12-16-1. Also in small numbers on right hand side of engine is 72584. Under the seat is a number 72284. On the head this is an overhead valve engine there is a number 251172-R1 underneath these numbers is a L. Under that is number 12-15-T. On the transmission case is the number 351687-R3.Underneath these numbers is 2-20-T.
We this tractor is in the late 40's or very early 50's please help if you can thanks bunches

it appears to be an identification tag that is totally unreadable except for the numbers we posted. The numbers came from the side of the rear case under the seat

1810, would be the rpms of the engine I believe. Im not to good with casting codes, but someone should be along shortly who is better with them then myself.

If I had to GUESS, someone will tell me differently. I would think that by the R in some of your codes, you have a 1948. But thats just a baseline guess. Others know how to read casting codes better then I

thanks so much really appreciate the info. pass these numbers around to any contacts you might have if you will to try to get a correct year because i need to order parts.

My wild guess is it is a 1954 Super A Farmall. YT says provided serial numbers are stamped on the left side of transmission and that the 1953-start numbers 336880 and 1954-start numbers are 353348 so if the numbers you provided are in the right place it is a 1954 Farmall Super A.Show a picture.

If its what Im thinking, its either a 41 A or B. Does it have a wide front of narrow front. (Front tires right beside each other)Look to the left for pics, type in Farmall A in the search box.

R is part of the part number. Im guessing the first 7XXXXX number is the engine serial number, the second the tractor serial number, the rest are part numbers and casting codes.
