TractorCanada

My nephew left tonight for Charlotte PEI. to start his trip across Canada by tractor. He leaves PEI on Canada day. Agco. sponsered him and donated a 1660 to drive. He is towing an 18 foot trailer with a small cabin and interview area on the front. He is doing a documentary on food. He has interviews planned for the next three months. Follow his journey on Tractorcanada.com
Should be fun.

Cool i watch for him when he hits the west, tell him to come through the Crowsnest Pass, beautiful part of the world and i,ll see him on the BC side.

I may even see him on my way to and from work, since I travel the TCH every day, between Amherst and Moncton.

Lyle, don't follow him. Stay home. Hector and Bison say you already ate too many PEI potatoes. Those are the best, growing some red skins as we speak.. well,as we type. That is a heck of a trip! Is he going thru Maine potato country? Lyle would love Maine potatoes too. Wrap 'em in tinfoil...bury them in wood BBQ embers..... OK Lyle! Let's go! The kids needs some back up!

Ron,

We spent a week at Loch Lomond RV park near Amherst 10 years ago this summer. Had some problems with the motor home, so did day trips while we waited. Roymac, a company in Amherst, fixed our reefer quite well and quite reasonably.

A guy who owned a pizza place in Amherst stayed at the RV park in the summer and introduced us to seafood pizza...what a treat!!

Also discovered That Damn Dutchman's cheese factory/store near Upper Economy. Great people and great Gouda!

All in all, we love NS.

Gonna go out on a limb, here, Lyle, but I'll bet not many folks just kind of wander through northern Alberta. I think you pretty much have to want to go there. Of course, I could be wrong. Could be THE tourist destination of all of Canada.

Did happen to be in northern Saskatchewan some years ago, and met some interesting people. One guy owned about 20 IH WD-40's- the first International diesel tractor, from the late 1930's, in various states of repair and disrepair. He still farmed with some of them.

He also had every car he'd ever owned, parked in rows on a hillside. Mostly Mopars, dating back to the '40's. Could tell you exactly what was wrong with each one. No, they weren't for sale.

It was a little tense at first, as I just stopped in without introduction- I figured I needed to do some fast "country talkin" to keep from getting shot- but once he decided I wasn't a guvment agent, he softened right up, and we had a fine time.

Wouldn't mind making a road trip through your area some day.

when i was 14 , i got to drive from Summerside PEI to Sackville NB .
that was on an MF 202 . i thought that was a long drive . never mind acrossed Canada .the drive through the the west will be long . hope he has good luck .
