I need advice how to remove the fly wheel from
my tractor.
I've an 1624 economy to rebuild the engine.(throwed a rod)
the drive pulleys and fly wheel apear as 1 unit.
I cant remove it from the crankshaft (key way)
help

if it sheared the key you may have to back it up till solid then with a bar in the fins gently hold pressure against it and try to back up the flywheel on the shaft. use a hammer to help persuade it a bit from the counterweight side .

Is that a Kohler? Might get better help on the garden tractor section on this site. May already be addressed There.

old roy i thankyou for your advice
thing is i can not get the flywheel from the
bellhousing and dont know how

I cannot find a pic of that "1624 economy "

But all the economy tractors I see are with the flywheel end to the front of the tractor with a rope stat type pulley.

Take off motor cover on that end take off nut might be a bolt there holding the starter pulley on the flywheel is on a tapered shaft you may be able to see down the key way to see if it may be out of alignment. either way if a broken rod engine will have to be removed. If I had an Idea what year your machine was built I could maybe find more info from similar tractors of that era.
I do have a source of info but cannot post it here I got bleeped the last time I did it.

It's about a 4" double grooved pulley with about a 8" round by 3/8" thick plate on the other end ( all one piece )where the pressure plate/clutch assembly bolts on. You need a special puller ( similar to a bearing puller ) to go over the 8" section and get down behind the double grooved pulley to the out put shaft of the engine. If you pull on the outer edge of the 8" plate it WILL snap off. Your probably not going to be able to find one and may have to build one from some heavy stock. Sorry that's the only way I know to get it off. PS : their are set screws in the bottom of the belt V groves, maybe one set screw on top of another in each hole, make sure you get them both out. Good luck let us know how you make out.
