Abdominal aortic aneurysm

Had to go through preadmit stuff today at local hospital.
Scheduled for surgery Monday morning to have aneyrysm removed. Located behing belly button. Have to be at hospital at 5:30. Should take between 3 to 4 hours, all goes well. Was set for end of March, developed pneumonia, set for May and I had a viris infection. Sense of dread but will be glad to get this over.
Asking that you remember me and my family in your prayers. Tom

Don't want to create panic, but that's a bad thing to have. I've known 2 guys who had it. One of'em didn't catch it in time, the other, barely.
Best of luck.

Good luck, dad had one in 79......he died in 88, very successful surgery. Wifes cousin just had one down 2 months ago. He's doing well too.

i have the same problem but mu dr says hes going to insert tubes in there with like scope surgery something like a heart catherization only to be in hospital like 3 days i hope he gets it done that way dont need anymore cutting just had open heart in feb i have 2 he has to fix

My dad had one and had it surgically repaired about 10-11 years ago . He is now 84 years old and next week is going to have stints put in to correct smaller aneurysms that have developed in the main arteries to his legs , as well as near the original one . I guess they can use stints on them now if they arent too bad. You may have to take it easy for awhile after . My dad has had a couple hernias due to the original operation weakening the abdominal muscles and still wanting to do what he always did before the operation. You are in my prayers for a succesful outcome.

I had 5 done 2 years ago. It takes a while to get back to normal (If I ever was). Most dont know they have the problem,How did you find it? I had to spend over a week in the hospital and some pain but nice Nurses. Good luck !!!!!

Doctor found it about 5 years ago. Was at 3.5 until about a year ago. In year it grew to 5.0. The rapid grow is why they want to fix it by surgery. Will take between 3 to 4 hours and will spend a week in ICU afterwards. Thanks for your support. Tom

You will be sore after it, be sure not to lift or turn to much. No coughing,or sneezing either. Prayers for you.
