Rock to miss earth

An asteroid about 5 to 20 meters across is supposed (supposed) to miss earth by 12 thousand K meters on Monday morning. It will be going through the zone with satellites, but the chance of hitting one is small.
I don't know about you, but to me, that is close enough. And big enough.

Wow;Here's what one does when it hits earth. Meteor Crater near Winslow Az. Stopped there 2 weeks ago Tuesday coming home from Colorado. What can I say:Big hole in the ground, expensive gift shop[We all got a "Made in Honduras" T shirt with some Meteor Crater stuff on them} Stayed overnite in the Camp Ground near there.Camp Ground was real nice.About 4 hours from home.

Is the rock that is supposed to hit April 1st 2029 still coming? Supposed to take out 15% on impact then 60% of all life over the next 20 years after. I hope I live long enough to see if it happens or not.

I have been there too. A very interesting place. Hard not to look up and wonder about the next one coming when you stand at the edge of that hole in the ground!

I was just wondering...when one of those big rocks hits the earth like that one in AZ. and makes that big crater...where does the big rock go? I mean where is it now? Did it bounce off the earth and head for another planet? Did it melt completely? I don't know.

A 20 meter diameter rock is not all that large, of course I wouldnt mind seeing the footage of it hitting the ground.

Probably down there somewhere. In fragments. Probably a lot scattered over a large radius as a ressult of the impact explosion.

See the little white spots in the middle of the crater? They are the buildings for the mine that was developed down there in the attempt to recover the iron from the meteor. They went broke trying to dig it up. Sounded like it has shattered and/or vaporized from the impact.
That is a seriously big hole in the earth!

looks like one of the iron ore holes in Western Australia with the contents stockpiled in China, The way we are going these things will be all over.. good reservoirs though, just establish a town.

How much is 12 thousand K meters in miles?

I guess 5 to 20 meters is 12.5 feet to 50 feet? Why can't the size be described a bit closer to the actual size? If it's that close I would think they could tell exactly how big it is.

Inquiring minds would like to know.
