How are you? Something came up in conversation the other day and I thought you could set me straight. My tractor (IHC D326) has coil springs on the front axle that squeeze down and look bad when I have the front loader mounted. A guy told me that the D series that were sold in Holland had axles without springs. Any idea if that is true (and if so) maybe how hard it would be to find one?

Thanks.

Dave

I wouldn't worry too much about the coil springs being compressed. If the windings get into contact, you lose the spring action but no harm is done to the springs.
That being said, yes, most D-series tractors were sold in Holland without springs; they were an option that only a few were willing to pay for. You may be able to find one without springs at a salvage yard. You may try:

Why don't you trade your D326 for a D436 with underslung exhaust? ;-)

I just got mine working good with no leaks, etc........... Hate to start over. If I could find one for the right price, that 36hp would be real welcome though. Guess I'll just live with the springs then.

Take care,

Dave
