Don't know anything about them, but check the tires. If they are badly cracked replacements could cost more than the machine.
 
My brother used two Michigan loaders at his sawmill for years. Don't know the model, but they were gas engines. They were reliable, but didn't turn as short as the articulated ones. Just look them over like you would any old machine. Might want to look into parts availability.
 
My uncle always used them at his gravel pit. Never had any with working brakes. They must have one tough shuttle gearbox ? or whatever they call it. As he would just go between forward and reverse to keep from running into things.
I think he broke a few axles over the years too. But these are really old machines and can really lift alot too.
