Yep they should be here late today would have been this evening but I-29 is closed. I get to meet my 4 grand kids I have 5 but have at least met her but not the other 4 of them. Sort of sad that they live out in WA state and I am in Missouri

Don't feel bad my kids are in Nebraska and my wife fights all the time with her two daughters so I don't get to my grandkids very often. My name sake is 3 now haven't seen him yest. Well maybe they will all come to my funeral, giggle.

Enjoy your time with the family...just don't spoil the grandkids with tractor rides and that sort of stuff.

Rick...gotta go help my ONLY grandchild celebrate his 6th b-day tomorrow!!

I know the feeling, we have a son in Tacoma. I have made it out there twice. He and his wife are expecting twin boys in August, wife is going out but I can't swing it this year. Making plans to take MIL and drive out next summer for a couple weeks. Hope to be driving something that gets a 100 mpg by then. LOL

I don't intend to be the insensitive small puncture wound in this thread but we also deal with this in my family as my twin brothers both moved to the Houston area -- the roads do go both ways still don't they?

Well yes but when the doctor say I need to limit how much I drive and how long I drive it is sort of hard to drive that far. My doctor forced me to retire because I was driving a truck and then said every mile I drive if I am not careful is that much closer to a wheel chair

Never been that far out west. Back when I drove truck I did get as far as Utah and NM and Arizona but I have never been that far north and west. And now with the doctor limiting me to how much I drive I will probably never be able to get out that way. 2 hours on any machine be it car truck or tractor and I have to take a break and the longer on the longer the break has to be

Big problem is they will not be likely to be able to come out to my place due to allergy problems and such. My daughters kids have way to many problems Like ADHD and atheism and stuff like that. Sad how kids now days seem to be born sicker then they where years ago. So how is your garden this year???

sorry to hear that,it would be nice to take them fishing The garden is coming along slow, should be posting some pictures of it soon, good luck to you and enjoy the visit ,they grow up fast .. Larry

Better get started on the lasagna. Will take a week to prepare the sauce. Seriously, hope you enjoy your time together.

I am very lucky. All of my grand kids live within twenty miles of home. I even got two living with us right now. Youngest son is going to college and his whole family is staying with us. He had a job in Wisconsin and the plant closed. They sold the house and moved in with us. They took the house money and are paying for school. I love having the little ones here, a 2 1/2 and a 4 year old. They seem to grow like weeds.

Enjoy them OLD you are not getting any younger either. I played whiffle ball with the kids last week. I about died the next day getting out of bed. LOL

My garden has tomato plants up to chest high and I could be picking hot peppers but want to see if they will turn red. Been picking summer squash now for a couple weeks and the lettuce has about had it till fall

Better keep that under raps it also cost $100 or more for the cheese so hope no one says any thing about it LOL. Oh by the way they are in Missouri right now just do not know where other then between KC and here

Its great that you're going to be able to get together, even if it has to be someplace "allergy neutral". My grandkids are all close by, and we're all getting together at #1 son's house for Father's day.

My tomatoes are exactly the same height as when I bought them 3 weeks ago. No chance to plant earlier, way too wet. Still too cold. Oh, well, if all else fails, they always seem to have tomatoes at Safeway.

Where in Washington is your daughter?

One thing you might consider for a visit is the train. You can get up and walk around when you need to, and it is a pretty painless way to travel. See a lot of country, too. I agree that a plane is not the answer if you have back trouble- seats are cramped, and there's no escape from them to take a break.
