OT Suzuki Forenza Cv shaft

I know this is off topic but, I have a question about the drive shafts in this car. There is the part with the stub shaft that goes into the transmission, then there is the drive shaft that slides into this part with three rollers on it. There is nothing that holds that shaft and the rollers from sliding right out, other than the boot. A mechanic friend said there should be some kind of retainer or lock ring. I took the boot off the other side and it was the same. Is this correct? Sorry for the novel, Thanks

Yep, you got it figured out.

NOTHING is needed to keep the tripod joint from coming apart (besides the boot) 'cuz when the halfshaft is installed there should NEVER be enough movement of the suspension to cause the tripod joint to pull apart.
