Finished last week.Tough to get corn & beans planted this year due to all the rain we had.

Oliver 1755 diesel,JD 7000 planter, then chased through with the roller.

Love the pictures, especially the Oliver. Uncle had a G-850 MM, same as the Oliver 1755 but differant color. When he passed away 8 years ago or so I had the chance to get it, but it was way to big for what I wanted and still in high school I didn't have a way to get it down to my neck of the woods. Sure wish I had grabbed it. That's a pretty big roller.

This is the 2nd year we've used the roller.Just got realy popular around here, but is nothing new in the Dakotas and farther West.

It pushes any rocks we missed down in the ground so the combine doesn't pick them up,flattens out hard dirt chunks and corn root balls(easier on the combine),better soil to seed contact, and allows us to set the combine header right on top of the ground and "skid" it along to get all the beans possible. Also, the beans seem pop up around 1-2 days sooner.

We've got the same roller! Up in Borup, MN. We pull ours with an MX 245. Sure do like Summers equipment. We have their chisel plow and heavy harrow too.

We would've had a hard time turning that tractor and planter in our fields. Sure looks nice in MN. I should've flown up to Bismarck ND when I was in Chicago back in the late 70's. I bought garden tractor parts from American Farm Machinery
that were in New York Mills and Ottertail MN.

Hey Brad,
Thanks for the planting pics! I have a couple questions for you. What kind of cab is on the sweet lookin' 1755? I have an 1850 with a year a round cab on mine. Where you located in MN? I live in Southern MN. Take care.

The cab is the Oliver "Farmer's Cab".I'm SW of Owatonna in Steele co.Where are you?

Brad,
I am North of New Ulm about 12 miles (Klossner). So I am about 125 miles from you or so. Wierd question about the cab again. Is that an after market? Never seen one like this before. Looks neat though. Do you have heat and AC too?
Kow Farmer

According to my original parts books,it's an Oliver-built.They classify it the "narrow-row" cab,but on the outside it's badged "Oliver Farmer's Cab".I've only seen one other like it and that was in a photo.Heat only, very nice cab.

New Ulm......GREAT BEER! Grain Belt Nordeast guy myself. :)

Brad,
Thanks for the cab info. Say by the way, since you brought it up. How is that Nordeast beer anyway? I have not tried it yet. I will have to do that sometime.
