Yoy guys are just like my nieghbors. Dont give you the time of day untill THEY need something. I will be sure not to ask any questions anymore and I sure as hell wont answer any.

You are right. We are like most neighbors. Have a neighbor hacked off at us and we have NO IDEA what they are hacked off about!
What's up???

What the he!! is your undies in a bundle about? I am on this site daily several times and don't recall any questions from you. GET A GRIP

dieseldoc, whats your question?Ill try and answer if I can and I know others will too.Its summer, people are busy, maybe the ones who answer stuff missed it.

Engine will not idle but will run if you bump the rpms up.it revs up then comes back down and keeps doing it.also the rpms run alot faster then it is set for . It does not miss on any cylinder and does not smoke. The fuel rack moves freely. I am leaning twords something in the governor control but I thought I would see if you guys had any ideas before I start tearing into it. Thanks ""

Doc,

Maybe no one here knows about your Duetz engine. No use gettin' a lathered up about it.

Krist, go in and ask the techs at the dealership; maybe they can help.

Well geewhiz doc , what is your unanswered question that has you so wound up about ? Maybe the help you wanted wasn"t provided here because nobody knew the answer . We need to remember that Kim has provided the website for us to use free of charge with no guarantees . There is a lot of more knowledged people than I on here , but sometimes the correct answer can"t be found here , so don"t be so harsh on everyone . God bless

Alright it sounds like its sucking air.Check every fitting going to the fuel pump,if none of them is loose look real close for a crack or if it has stratoflex lines it might be that its going bad inside, but I doubt if a tractor has lines like that.It might help to know what kind of engine, what its in,and what all else you can say about it.
It could be the fuel pump itsself. On older Cummins engines they had a filter head that is held on to the back of the fuel pump by allen headed screws. You need to take the filter head off,put new flat sided o rings in to replace the old ones and tighten it back up and it should fix it for a while. Another way would be to rig up a remote fuel filter head and screw a line into the pump and eliminate the o rings. The filter head on the pump was used a lot on International cabovers.
If thats not enough ask again and Ill see if I have a better answer.Feel free to give more info.
Another place that can suck air is around a hand pump for the filter and also a shut off solenoid if the fuel line hooks to it.If these things have an O ring thats hard or worn out,or if they have loose screws or bolts holding them or a cracked fitting on a line like a fare anywhere before the pump it can cause this kind of thing and also even a bad spin on filter seal can do it as well.

That should be flare instead of fare. What I meant to say was a flare fitting can crack and cause one to suck air but not leak a whole lot and it will drive you crazy.Just look for spots on the line or anywhere fuel is going into the system for wetness or even a real clean place where its greasy,as a clue to sucking air.If it has a fuel pump look for where it draws the fuel in for a loose fitting or broken flare even if it has a draw pipe in the tank Ive seen them have a crack where they are soldered or brazed into a fitting. That vibration from a diesel engine will make lines crack and its a common thing to have something like that happen and be hard to figure out where its at.It might also be about out of fuel,or have something in the fuel like water,or the filter being plugged or full of water.Even if you just put a new filter on,if it has enough water in it,it wont take long to mess up a new one either.

I have worked on farm machinery and all sorts of engines for over 30 years. This free site has helped me immensely. Unfortunately I gain more info then I give. I will not answer a post unless I am 100% sure I am right. I don"t want to cause someone more problems then what they started with. Sorry I cant help you but you have to have more patience. Most of the guys on here work full time jobs.

Well just a wild guess. But after forty years of diesel work. It is sucking air or your injector pump is failing. Duetz engines are not as common as you might think. Most likely no one here as ever seen one of them. Nothing to get upset about. You didn't get an answer because most people on this site. Don't know the answer.

sorry guys. I should not have said anything. As far as the nieghbors go I will never help any of them again. I am tired of getting screwed over.

If that engine has the Robert Bosch inline pump there is a tension spring internal to the governor housing that if disconnected will cause that very symptom. Had one on a Case 400 that was a replacement setup from the American Bosch which had failed and that spring before mentioned was disconnected. Maybe time for the service center to look at it. mEl

Maybe your neighbors were busy doing THEIR work and didn't know you needed something....That's been the case with a few of us here lately

I know how you feel. Fixed a mower for one of my nieghbors. Charged him twenty dollars. He told everyone in town I ripped him off. Just wait untill he needs help again. Got a feeling the bill will be much higher.

I had a nieghbor who had a real bad oil leak on a old car, so I told them about my mechanic who was good and cheap. He fixed the oil leak but 2 weeks later the timing belt broke and the nieghbors told me the mechanic should have fixed the timing belt when he had it at the shop.
I just smiled  and from now own when the ask for something, I tell em I know nothin.

Well... I din't see your post...
If it's about the pump as someone else suggested... then I think you're right. It's in the govenor or springs. I'm no expert on that stuff but that's where I'd be going.

Look diesel, you posted this noontime on a weekday, no one responded by saturday AM, for many reasons- personally all I know about diesels you could write in a matchbook, never a duetz, and goes for a bunch of guys on here, yesterday's tractors are usually the stuff that was junk before yours left the factory, and lots of us are kinda 'low tech'. So give it a couple days, I put up posts no one replied to ever, and I usually post on MF or Harry ferguson, holy cow, might be a week before some one responds, and last night I got a reply from a question I asked a couple years ago, I forgot what he was talking about! Now, far as that goes, if your engine is in- say later Allis Chalmers, or some other brand with forums here, post the question there too, some guys dont' check out this forum, but check out their favorite makes every day, anyway, good luck with it....

only thing neighbors were doing was tearing up my equipment or driving by when I am trying to get tractor running along side of the road and not so much as a wave. I am supposed to drop everything and help them or lend them tools or tractors or planters or whatever. But when i need something they are to busy or they are using that piece of equipment.I dont even exist to these people unless they need something from me. I am done. Next time they come around i am running them out of here.

Want an answer.. your air cleaner is clogged.
I know NOTHING about them but that's an answer.
Apologise for not replying before.
Wake up man, you are soliciting peoples goodwill so no use getting the knickers in a knot when the replies don't eventuate, they may not know either.

Well now maybe I shouldnt say anything, but I see this all the time here. You get all mad about no answer and then when you get an answer you dont even say anything about it?In fact you never even said whether that was your question or not,you just put some stuff up about everybody being like your neighbors and when you reply its all about your neighbors?Just what was your question to begin with and did you get an answer that helped?
Then if its not even acknowledging the answers, its some body being a smart mouth who attacks somebody for his answer. But the smart mouth doesnt offer an answer either.
Lets just watch and see how long it is before there is an answer to this post here.It might not ever get an answer,I think some of them dont even look back to see if anybody answered or not.

Hey dieseldoc I requested info on a burr mill a couple weeks ago and got no answer. Found 2 other guys on different web sites and all three of us need the same gear! They can't find one either! The point is that maybe your neighbors suck, but you'll look long and hard before you find a group of people who want to help you more than those on the Y-T Forums. Besides that, I'll bet you $50 that no one holds it against you for that outburst, because we've all been there. No need to boycott, just jump back in and forget it.
