EBay Marty 2374 from Michigan??

Has anyone done business with Marty 2374 on ebay? Any good or bad experiences? He is located in Michigan and sells tractor parts.

USE CAUTION. Pay with paypal if you are going to deal with him. I sent him a check for a part and he wrote back after a while that he never recieved it and was going to turn me in to Ebay. I said okay lets wait a few days and if it does not go thru we will send another one. Couple days went by and no check (what he said anyway). So we sent another check. Well when he deposited it, it showed on our internet banking that it went thru at same time and day as the other one (he cashed both at same time). When I email him about this he said mistakes happen and he would send the a check for the amount back to me to cover the "extra" check. Have not seen another check yet (been over a year now).

I have had an issue with this seller but I am fortunate enough that my inlaws live 12 miles south of him, and I am able to send pop inlaw up to take care of business. They went to school together and everyone around Bad Axe knows that Marty is crooked. I have had 2 dealings with him but like I said, I had help.

I have bought from him many times with no problem through E-bay /and sending payment with bank money order. And I live in NY State.

I just bought some rear tires for my 77 from Josh, who lives about 5 miles from Marty. He told me NOT to deal with Marty. He's a cheat. I believe him.

Cost to cancel the check was more than the check, but if I had it to do again I would have canceled it anyway so he would not have the pleasure of getting the extra money.

Some appear to have good/ok luck with him. I didn't get cheated by him directly other than time and gas. He knew what time I was going to be there and deliberately wasn't there then. In the process he VERY deliberately lied about having parts I wanted. Went on for a while until I figured out he either never had them or sold them out from under me. You can trust him as far as you can throw him. (He's a big boy so you can't throw him too far). as always, buyer beware

Good advice, I'd go 1 step further.

Use PayPal with a credit card... you'll get twice the protection in terms of being able to recoup your money if for some reason the items are 'not as described' or were 'never received'.
