Insects and thornless blackberrys

Do any of you guys who raise blackberrys ever have any trouble with insects? If so which ones and what pesticides do you use if any. I planted some thornless Apache blackberrys back in early April and they seem to be doing good except for a couple of plants are getting a few holes in the leaves. The only insects I have seen are a couple of baby grasshoppers. I'mm gonna call the extension office today but thought I would check here too. Thanks in advance.

i use liquid sevin on my blackberrys, it keeps the japanese beetles from stripping the plants.
