in oppinion what kind of bed liner works best and where do you get it. im not putting a plastic one on. how many costs does it take and should the box be sanded and primered or painted before it goes down to stop any rust fom under it. what is a good way to get dents out also because i dont want any dents in the box before i put the liner on. thanks

the only problem i would have with that is learning how to use a spray gun. they look like they are good anyhow but do you use just any regular spray gun. im not even sure how to use one without making a mess. its probably something i could look into though.

there are shops that do that im sure its a special gun and special coating maybe check at a auto dealer who sells pickups they should know or google box liners

When I got my F250 in "04 I got a Rhino lining sprayed in the bed, at that time it was $500 for an 8 ft. bed. I"m not sorry I got it done, stuff doesn"t slide around, and it is very tough.
Currently Ford offers similar in new pickups for $450 for an 8 ft. bed as a dealer option.

I like "Line-X". I have an 05 Chevrolet Long Bed. $450 sprayed over the rail in 2005. Dont know what it cost today. Anytime its gets torn, or damaged I go back & they fix for free... For life! They will have to sand the bed down to bare metal to get it to stick.

If you dont want to spend big bucks, go to autozone or lowes
maybe napa . They have "roll on" truck bed liner, I really like it, i use
it on the underside of cars to help prevent rust. I really like the
rubberized stuff the best.

Rhino line in a new 03 truck - I try not to drop any really heavy items on the floor so I don't have have the bed patched. The color matched the color of the truck. Tuff to slide heavy items on the floor. Eight years on the spray on liner and looks great except where the floor is used. Still shines in the non used areas. Little pricey, but if you plan on a 10 year usage it is cheap. Buddy has a dull black spray in line in a white truck and is butt uggggly to the bone. Spend the extra 150 buck on your 40 large truck.

Rubber mat $49.00. You can drop anything you want on it. Take it out when you sell the truck.

well this is for my sns new 87 f150 that he just bought and he wants to have all the rust and sents fixed and put a bed liner on it. he plans to take it to boces and have auto body do it and then he wants to put a bed liner on it. he was thinking of the roll on stuff from tsc. have any of you tried that.

Ive had one with a spray on liner and my current truck has a rubber mat in it on the floor of the bed, Way nicer than the spray on stuff, granted hard to slide anything on it though!! But way cheaper too, and if you sell the truck, you can always pull it out for the next one if it is the same style..Bob

I rolled Herculiner on a floor and it seems to be pretty tough stuff for a do-it-yourself project. One coat looks good but uneaven, the second coat evens everything out. If you get the stuff on something you don't plan on, wipe it off before it dries or you'll have it stuck there for life. Jim

Like Tom says - rubber mat. I have one that"s probably 20 years old, still good, still protecting truck bed. Truck is pretty tired, but liner has held up well - 1983 GMC.

I got Rhino liner sprayed onto my 2005 soon after I got it. I had to saw a hole when I put my goose neck hitch in, and it was nearly 1/8 inch thick. It wrinkled pretty bad though when I totaled the truck six months later.

Why not a slip in style?
I'm on my second Chevy with one and I don't baby it.
My friend has a Dodge with a spray in and it is flaking off in a couple of places.

LineX, worked for me - Like "deere scotty" said, installer will repair for free, for life, if damaged. A little salty but well worth the investment, in my opinion. Originally had a plastic slide in and hated that!

the plastic liner on my truck looks like it is going to fly off the back of my truck everytime i go somewhere and he needs more than a mat to stop the dents on the walls. probably will go to tsc and use the roll on kind after we figure out how to pull the sents out.

I'll second the $50 rubber bed mat. They are about 3/8 inch thick, weight over 50 pounds and are hard to damage.

Gasoline and oil spills will soften the top surface of a mat for a few months. They don't protect the sides of the bed but the bed floor stays looking almost new. The flat top surface makes it easier for me to shovel and push dirt or rocks out the end gate. They are easy to remove or roll up inside the bed to sweep or hose out the bed.

After I sell a truck the old mat makes a good anti-fatique mat in front of a work bench.

I had a Rhino put in a 2000 Chevy when I bought it new.Last fall I changed the truck into a flat bed and the rhino was still as good as new.I bought a 2010 F 150 and had a Rhino shot in it.The last company truck I had before I retired had a Linex. The Rhino is a lot tougher and better quality in my opinion.Good Luck.
