Need advice about selling please

Hi everybody. My husband, who used to drop by this board on occasion, died unexpectedly a few months ago. He had a 1959 Massey Ferguson 65 that he used here on the farm for about 10 years before we bought a new Mahindra. He also had a 1948 Caterpillar d-4 that he owned almost as long. They both look their age but still work pretty good, altho I know he used the Massey to pull the dozer to get it started (because I usually had to sit on the dozer to release the clutch). I think the original starter is in the garage, but I don't know what's wrong with it. I also do not know how to operate or maintain either of them, so would like to sell them. I think they should be worth something to a collector, or maybe even to someone who can use them as he did. Any advice you can offer on where I should start looking to find a buyer, to figure out what they might be worth, or anything else you can think of that I need to know but don't know enough to ask, would be greatly appreciated.

JAI...Sorry about your loss.

Would suggest that you take a few photos...use flash or have good lighting...showing the equipment from several different angles.

I'm sure someone on the Massey group as well as the Crawler group...both here on Yesterday's Tractor... would be able to offer further suggestions and help.

Also will be helpful to know what "area" you are located.

Good luck...Rick

You have my sympathy for your loss. I think I would go to your local Massey dealer where he got his parts from. They know what your stuff is worth in your area and they know how to sell things. If they are anything of a dealer they will help sell it for you. They will come pick it up and display it for sale on there lot. They will know the answers to questions that potential buyers have. I know I have two dealers near me that would be more then happy to help my wife in a situation like yours and I do very little buisiness with ether. That's there job and they are professional salesman. Good luck.

I am looking for a cat about the age and size you mention please let me know what part of the country you are in thanks bill wilson
