May've found the dream mower???

Thinking about this one and trying to talk myself into it (and out of it). Tried one out today and it's sweet. Wife wanted a sickle mower like I posted the other day but I think she'd lose interest about the second time it plugged up or she caught a tpost. This is as smooth as a drum mower. Guy at the demo had his wife with him and I asked her to run it. She zoomed right thru it. One lever for forward (no reverse) and one to engage blade. Real user friendly. Like the drum mower style because it'll save time mowing hay in the orchards.
Price is $1600. Found similar models on the web for a hundred or so less, but this is at a dealer with good support. Think the price is acceptable for what it is? Considering this instead of a mulcher because this would get much more use (and the wife could use it and take some load off me).

Whaddya think???

We have a weed trimmer not unlike this. If your yard is uneven and bumpy like ours, you'll hate it. The front will dive - more work than you'd think at first. my two cents

Neighbor has one similar, Sears trademark. No shields in front, and cutting is done by heavy plastic whips. Works quite well, especially trimming under fences, around buildings. Throws stuff all over, as there are no shields. Safety glasses, heavy bluejeans, combat boots are garb of the day.

(quoted from post at 20:39:29 06/03/11) My guess is that you don't have much lawn to mow. That looks like a weed eater.

Tidy up around fences and trim around fruit trees and in corners of small places where the tractor and drum mower won't fit without a lot of stress.
