guage wheel tire

Anyone have an easy way to install a new tire on the guage wheels on a Kinze planter? I cleaned the rims and soaped the tire with no success. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

Joe

Are you talking the ones on each side of the disc openers.

Those are split rims. Take about 6 bolts out and they split in two.

Piece of cake.

Helped a friend this spring with his JD. He tried everything and told him to use a press, he didn't have one and I do. Soap like you mentioned and a little pressure to hold everything together while you work around the rim with screwdrivers/prybars. 12 row/24 wheels took us six hours. Two guys and me on crutches, never done them before and really don't want to see anymore. chris

Like IA Gary said. The gauges wheels on JD and Kinze are on a two piece rim. You just take the arm off and take six 5/16 bolts out. The rims will fall apart.

If you are talking about the closing wheels they are two piece rims too.
