I see there are some super c tractors with power steering, could some one tell me how to install power sreering on one?

Never seen one on a SC but over on the Cub site someone has a Cub with power steering installed. With the U-joint so close to the gear box I don't know how one would mount a power unit, and I don't think the U-joint would take the torque with it mounted on the shaft before it.

I have a 53 SC with a loader on it and in my opinion, it would be a waste of money to add PS to it.(narrow front end)

Think there isnt any more thrust on the u-joint with power steering than without it takes the same energy to move the shaft whether by power or by hand..

I havent done it but it would be easy just put the motoron the steering shaftin the aircleaner area add a pump off the gen belt and presto. could be a nice easy and neat installation.

I can't understand why you'd want to go to all that trouble. If it steers hard, something is wrong with it. Is there any oil in the steering box, or just rusty water? Steering column or intermediate shaft bent and binding in the bearings? Are the u-joints stiff & need service? Jack up the front of the tractor and grab the spindle post. Can you move it around, too loose to hold oil? If wide front, ball joints and tie rods bent, stiff or damaged? Spindles stiff in the axle tube due to rust or damage? Any air in the front tires? Just a few thoughts. Fritz.
