Small Farm Resurrection

This was one of the first family dairy farms I can recall closing up in this town, there were originally 11 on this road, one of the sons invested a generous amount of money and has been hard at work trying to make it a success. Anyone else seeing any of these making a run at something like this ? I can only hope they succeed, I buy products from places like these near where I live and work, its good stuff to say the least.

Thought I'd share this story with y'all, nice to see politicians visiting these places, next thing they need to do is something about the high property taxes, the land that supports all these places is ridiculously taxed.

I remember when uncle Mario said there was nothing north of the Mohawk river, I guess Brunswick snuck under the wire. Atleast there is a right to farm law, and ag presveration for ages now, but yes, taxes are nuts, but taxes are county and town things, politians don't want to step on each other's toes huh? I wouldn't expect much out of super mario... these talking heads went 10 minutes up 787, crossed the rt. 2 bridge and up the hill? Went way out in the sticks for a photo shoot -wow. We'll see.
 
bill there are a couple farms of that nature down my way in ct. when i'm up visiting my inlaws out in cny there is a small farm similar to the 1 in the article that i frequently visit their small store at the farm. as for the small farms back in my area i think for the most part they are managing quite well, most are not dairys but a couple are. although i'm not sure what will happen to them if/ when the fda starts craking down on the food regs. which is going to happen to many small time producers, according to my brother who is in the dairy industry. i would much rather see a small farm or preserved open space around then a housing developement. easier on the eyes and easier on the towns/ county folks pockets tax wise.
