one day we had come home and we see the siding ripped off by the kitchen window of our brand new house i thought it was our dog (toby) he is scared of thunder and we thought he was trying to get in the house.He is a big dog and we new he would do something like that. I was so mad that i was ready to get the thunder stick out and send him to doggy heaven.But i had cooled off and spared his life any way a few days later i noticed some garbage was dragged out in the bush so i went to get the garbage then i saw some blueberry pie filling on the ground (bear dung) i new then that a bear was around so i did some csi work and looked at the torn off piece of siding and looked at the teeth marks and saw the teeth marks were alot wider than the dogs teeth marks. I called my step dad and he brought out his thunder stick and waited for a couple of hours and the we heard some noise in the bushes and then we saw him the thunder stick went off and he was down took a second shot to make sure he was sleeping good! I had to say sorry to the dog. this was a year ago and i still havent repaired the siding the wife reminds me quit often i tell her good work takes timeLOL i just took a pic to show you and now maybe i will fix the siding but remember good work takes time!!!

I can see why you don't fix it. It's gotta cost $15 dollars and take 30 minutes.

Why didn't you call animal control and have the bear relocated? Sounds like a better solution than killing it. I doubt the bear meant you any harm.

Did you put the bear in the freezer? Pouring ammonia on
stinky garbage usually is a good deterent.

it seems like i struck a nerve i did not meen to but i am no different from the bear when it comes to the safty of my cubs i do what ever it takes to protect them i love nature and animals but sometimes you have to be sensable about certain things the fish and wild life most likley would have shot the bear if i would of called them when they are that close to your home they are considered a newsince bear there are many bears out this way they are very hard on the moose and deer population they usually wait until the moose or deer give birth then they get the fawn or calf the do the same to cattle. I DO NOT HATE BEARS

i did not put the bear in the deep freeze i dug a hole and buried it but i did eat bear meat before it is not bad

thanx for your support bingo some of these so called naturalist dont seem to realize that they all drive cars live in wooden houses all the raw materials needed for these things come from the bush land is cleared and animal habitat is lost so if they think they dont kill anything they should think about it the next time they gas up their car or go into their house thats just my opinion

Get caught shooting a black bear in Florida and you will spend many years behind bars. Don't know the laws in your state, but I wouldn't be telling too many people.

Feed the bears they will stay. Yellow Stone park has to haul the garbage out of the park to keep any control of the bears.

i would have shot the bear too, first the siding, then the cabnet doors,

i shot three ground hogs the other night, and i shoot every stray cat that comes around, if i aint got a collar on it , it's fair game,

there is a pack of 8 or so dogs that come through about every afternoon, they have ripped all the underpeding off the trailer house the church up the road was using for a class room, they have killed some of my chickens, they all have NO collars,

OH and i have been pretty rough on those black starlings that seem to make a nest in nook and cranny in my metal roof and soffet
