Lost keys update

My FIL came over with his metal detector this afternoon and we searched for about an hour in between thunderstorms. We found some nails and a broken bolt and then we started sweeping the area a second time and found my keys!

Congrads on the findings of the keys.
I have one of those Whites metal detectors.
Can't beat it, it will find it if you lost it.

Congratulations, that's a big area.

I was camping and a guy lost the brass orifice to a Coleman camp stove, I found it with a Garrett metal detector. He didn't think it possible, took a while tho.

Did you find the other half of the short key.
just kidding

friend of ours had a dipstick/burnout "helping" work on a big Case, he took a valve loose off the tractor instead of removing the hose, little check balls and springs went everywhere, they found them ALL with the help of a metal detector,

Congrats on finding the keys. Have a set lost in a hayfield. Knew exactly where I walked, following a set of tractor tracks. Never did find them. I have a RadioShack detector. Sometimes it can"t find a lost brass cartridge in a well mowed lawn. Really want a good one, like the one you guys used.

Lost a wallet I had won for having the best electrical project in 4-H in 1959 about the same way. Plowed it up the next year, but not in good condition. Congrats on finding the keys.

Dropped a cell phone last fall on a construction site where we had put in a power line. I could hear it ringing but couldn't locate it before the battery went dead. Next day my son dug around and found it about 3 feet from where I heard it ringing.

That looks to be the same model of White I have. It is probably a 20+ year old detector, but has found a lot of stuff for us.

Once my oldest daughter lost a precious stone ring she had gotten as a gift in a big pile of leaves. The leaves had been bagged up. I swept off the concrete part of the driveway, and tore the leaf bags open, scattering them on the clean concrete. Sure enough, the White did its job, and daughter had her ring back.

I have a firm rule.No keys or wallets on a tractor. My metal detector is just a home built kit.It has found wedding rings, small gold rings that are used to keep pierced ear holes from healing shut.Parts from a pitman arm latch .Eye glasses lost in the woods.Hand guns,Horse shoes.Ford ring gears, license plates. The only money Ive found are old large size pennies that have been in the ground so long they are blank. My garden is next to a 1 room school house.I have found old desk supports, old nails, bolts, harness parts ,plow points.Found a lot of glass marbles.I have a better metal detector my Dad used.He collected old bottles, usually bottle dumps has some metal scrap in them.
