Rim repairs

The rims on my 6610 are rusted out around the valve stem. Does someone make kits for those that can be welded in? I have a friend that is good with a wire welder.

drill a new hole 180 deg out in good metal
have your buddy weld the old hole shut and grind smooth

Do it the way evil said. I repair them all for local tire shop. Do it just that way. fyi it is a 5/8 hole.

I have repaired them like the others on here have stated. I also have taken a large washer and welded it back in the rusted out hole. I have even taken sections out of a good rim and welded it into a rusted out rim. Usually only downing that if the center of the rim is rare.
