The field next to your house not a dump

I mow the same fields year after year, and know by now where the large rocks and holes are. It never fails kids will make bike jumps, and leave the mess. Dig a hole for no reason and leave it. I come along mowing in high weeds and run into it. Don't the parents care the kids are ruining someone elses property? My least favorite thing is neighbors throwing their yard trash, including rocks into a area I knew was clean yast year. One year I ran upon a chevy V8 motor.I never did this in the past, but now I return the rocks back to where they come from. Stan

Not an uncommon problem. I'm amazed at what some folks will dump over a fence with the idea that it will somehow just disappear. Years ago, my Dad wound some old bed springs up in a flail mower when he backed it into the corner of a field next to some idiot's yard.

a man i once worked for farmed about 50 acres the was in middle of small town.
one year his wheat was about ready to combine so he went to check on it the kids in neighberhood had made bike paths etc. in the wheat and made mess of it.
about 3 years later his son in law farmed the same ground people had dumped thier lawn clippings and trimmed a tree and threw the limbs in corn rows. tree limbs and corn heads after dark don"t make a good mix.
after all that Dave said we are never farming this dirt again.
the last year on lease the whole thing was in set aside. then somebody else had the headache.

I figured out rocks and broken 2x4's grow along the fence one place where I mow. I asked the folks next door and THEY didn't put'em there. Sure would like to see the seeds!

I just had to untangle and old hooded sweatshirt from my 3 pt tiller tines today! I know it was not mine, but it was in the field somehow, what a pain to get it all loose

I see your problem around here. The county picks up refrigerators beds and Tvs for free... yet people dump them in cow/horse pastures or hide them in cornfields.

I know what you mean. One of the fields I've been cutting for several years has two imps living with the mom there. Every year there are tarps, tennis and basketballs, gloves, pressure-treated lumber, and sometimes hockey sticks out in the field. The daughter is older, and loves to drive their lawn tractor through the field, mowing giant clover leaf patterns into the hay. Two years ago my yield was down 15% from normal due to the grass cutting she had done. After speaking with them the last two years, this might be the last year if things don't improve.

A few years ago the neighbor kid got a new shotgun given to him. That year I didn't have any corn for about 4-5 rows and a 100feet behind their house. Kid shot it all off with his shotgun. I wonder how many boxes of shells it took? He moved on to bigger and better things the next year.

It is a bad habit of giving somebody else our cast offs so that it isn't within our range of view. We all do it every week when we send our trash down the road to the local dump which is right by somebody elses yard. We think nothing of it but we sure mess up the view and air quality for some other poor folks. It is unsustainalble behaviour that we have chosen.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard "I'm moving to the country so I have a place to ride my quads". Oh really?!! Are you buyin your OWN land??? Nope! just cruise around and ride up and down everyone elses land!! They see other quads out there ...never mind that they're the land owners!

My brothers neighbor used collect old bikes (at least 20 or 30)a year and put them on his side of the propety line in nice straight rows. They would let him and it was for a good reason. Years ago the guy was a ems driver and got in a accident on the way to a call and got brain damage and was never the same. He would push his mower to town after that and cut grass for a living and wouldn't even ask for money. Eventually his wife found a new man and had the poor guy put in a home to make room for a new one. So now if even a piece of paper gets in the field they know about it.

Unfortunately,Vern, the law won't let us have our "own" dump on or "own" land like they did back when. MOST people would gladly bury their own on their own if given the chance. Ordinance forced trash pick-up still hasn't changed anything out our way. A few tv,s and recliners and mattresses every year. Their ARE places to take them. They are too lazy. Same people who dump off their unwanted pups and other animals. Shelter takes them for free! Nightime drop off enclosure!!! Idiots! Lazy!.

Apparently my next door neighbor didn't get the memo about not being able to have his own personal dump.

If you think you got problems now, wait till the population has doubled in the next 30 yrs.
There is way to many people coming on this rock.

I'm glad i live way out in the sticks, but even here there are more and more Acreage owners apearing with their friggen kids on quads ripping circles in the gravel roads, and their damm dogs.
I wish there was a law you could legally shoot these varmint(kids i mean,I shoot the dogs allready)

We always return the brush & garbage to that nice subdivision on the windward side of the property. That way I won't get accused of stealing & they won't say I never gave them nuthin'! Donkey-holes!

Some of ther things I have had wrap around my mowers A bed spring, piece of chainlink fience, a cargo net, piece of some kind of tie wire. Except for the cargo net I had to haul my mower back to the shop and use the torch to remove it.I am sure there are more, but those stand out. Stan

My neighbors dug a drain line for their sump pump in on my side of road ditch. Left a bunch of fist size rocks laying when they covered. I loaded them and dumped them off in middle of their driveway to teach them a lesson. Month later I went by and saw they used the rocks to build a mailbox post/flower bed. It was built sturdy and still stands today. It is beautiful. Jokes on me.

Yup, and we're so fond of trash in Michigan we take in 450 semi loads of Canadian trash everyday. Yes, we may not be the car capital, but we love trash!

(quoted from post at 08:22:22 05/22/11) I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard "I'm moving to the country so I have a place to ride my quads". Oh really?!! Are you buyin your OWN land??? Nope! just cruise around and ride up and down everyone elses land!! They see other quads out there ...never mind that they're the land owners!
Yup, got that problem myself. Bought some vacant property that the neighbors had been using for their personal recreation area. They were p.o.ed when I asked them to respect my property rights. Still fixing the ruts they made with their quads. Been fencing the perimeter and they tear it down during hunting season. They've moved property markers, they steal stuff, are rude and arrogant and just plain terrible excuses for human beings. And these aren't relocated city folk. They've lived in the area all their lives. Every time someone mentions the movie "Deliverance", I think of my neighbors.
