I have a Massey-Harris colt tractor that i would like to sell. It is not in running condition needs some repair. I was would like to know what price you might list it at or best offer?

Probably a little above scrap. Just my opinion, but you will probably get a better price if you take best offers for a couple of weeks. If you do decide to list an asking price, I would set the price around $750 and be prepared to go down.

I had a Pony which were common. The others, Colt, Pacer, etc were not so much. I'd try to find out how many were made.

I was under the impression that an item sells to the person that made highest offer made during the time period for "best offers".

Sounds to me like you are saying I'm not going to sell it, I just want you to price it for me.

Therein is the difference between folks.

I simply was trying to give my opinion. I think the tractor will sell, but since it is in non-running condition, the price must be dropped, but never below scrap. If there is a very simple problem, the tractor could be worth $1500. If the problem is complicated, the it may only be worth $400. The price also depends on the condition of the tires. Since the tractor doesn't run, I really doubt it has good tires. A full set of tires may run $1000. That will probably be taken off the price.
What I meant by saying that best offers should be taken is this: That no price be listed, and potential buyers offer what THEY think the tractor is worth to the seller. When a new person offers to buy the tractor and is $100 under the standing offer, the seller should tell the potential buyer that if he increases is price by $150, he (the seller) will consider it.
I stand by my original statement that $750 (or somewhere in the neighborhood) is about right.

Reason I asked was I am hoping to get a MH Pony in August.. some parts are the same as the Colt. I am in Maryland.
