I bought a refurbished Planet jr planter on ebay.It looks real good except it is missing the seed shutoff rod. I exaused my patience and a lot of seed with these plastic jobs. Does anybody have any recomendations.

Pat, what are you planting? I have found the planet jr, not much of an improvement over the earthway plastic wonder. Problem is, each seed has has a seeder that seeds it best. The plastic wonder works ok for corn, some beans, and some peas. Planet jr is good for beets, pelletized carrots, but you still have to thin a lot. For beets, I have found that the earthway seed wheel works good, though it is no longer made (every once in a while one shows up on fleabay) because you can dial the opening down a little, and not have to thin as much. I think the next one I try will be the chinese plastic wonder, that ruppseeds.com sells. It's a little pricey at $375 plus shipping, but if I were to add up the cost of the others, not much more.

I run a 2 row Planet Jr. setup for sunflowers.
Last year I lost one of the rods and just made another from a weldind rod.

Not familiar with planet jr,but isnt that something that you could make?Does the other side have one that you could use as a pattern?

Are you talking about these model 300 units?
I used this planter for 25 years but now I would like to sell the units or the whole planter.
